Experiment

Hyperglycemic clamporder #19683 March 2016
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Sirvent, Pascal
Description Diabetes and Obesity Research

We would like to realize calorimetric chamber measurements and hyperinsulinic
clamp after 6 weeks of a special diet that we will provide. There will be 2
different diets, so 2 groups of 12 mice. After 6 weeks, measurements in
calorimetric chambers and clamps have to be done.

Mice homozygous for the diabetes spontaneous mutation (Leprdb) become
identifiably obese around 3 to 4 weeks of age. Elevations of plasma insulin
begin at 10 to 14 days and of blood sugar at four to eight weeks. Affected mice
are polyphagic, polydipsic, and polyuric.
